New affordable homes in Wigan
Wigan Council, Great Places Housing Group and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), have been given the green light to build 32 properties near St Cuthbert's Primary School, in Severn Drive, Norley and contractors will begin work in June. The affordable housing scheme will consist of a mixture of two-, three- and four-bedroomed houses, and the project is earmarked for completion next spring.
Affordable homes in Norfolk
The former Howards garage off Mundesley Road is being convertedby Victory Housing Trust into 15 news homes, while a further 36 will be developed by Youngs Homes at Wood View off the Skeyton Road. The developer will provide a mix of one- and two-bedroom flats, along with houses, which should be handed over in March 2014.
Affordable new homes in Winchester
Winchester City Council has announced that is planning to tackle a serious housing shortage by developing 350 new affordable homes over the next 10 years. The council will initially build 50 affordable homes in Abbotts Barton within the next few years followed by further properties in Stanmore, Weeke, Highcliffe and Winnall.
New affordable homes in Oldham
Construction has started on a £2.6m affordable homes scheme on the site of a former mill in Lees, Oldham. Contour Homes and Seddon Construction are developing 25 new two-, three- and four-bedroom houses in an area which commands high demand.

A planning application has been submitted for a £6.5m scheme for 50 two-, three- and four-bedroom houses built on former playing fields at Duck Lane in Kinson, as part of wider plans to tackle the Bournmouth's affordable housing crisis.
Affordable new homes in Ashford
The Mayor and Mayoress of Ashford will officially open a terrace of affordable new homes in Willesborough next Thursday. The development at Orion Way in Willesborough was constructed by Westridge Construction and features seven three-bedroom houses and two semi-detached, wheelchair-standard four-bedroom houses.
