As one of the oldest tiling companies in the UK with more than 50 years experience, Minoli Tiles work with a range of developers, including Berkeley Group and St George, Shanly Homes and Telford Homes, to provide porcelain tiling. The majority of their tiles are sourced in Italy, owing to the family's Italian heritage, and while they mostly work business to business, consumers can buy their tiles from a range of suppliers. Whathouse.co.uk assistant editor Laurna Robertson spoke to Jonathon Minoli about the current tiling trends he's spotted.

"This is a key style developers are creating with their tiles at the moment. It's all about creating beautiful flooring where the quality is clear without any kind of bling. It's luxurious, understated and tasteful."

2. Move away from natural to porcelain: Durability and regularity in size win buyers

"People are realising you can replicate the finish of marble and stone with porcelain and have a much more durable tile. It doesn't need to be treated or sealed as flooring and it is much more regular in size."

3. En suite most important bathroom in the house: Homebuyer wants luxury in bathroom they use

"I've noticed the shift of importance of the master bedroom en suite. Our developers are spending more on their en suites and it's becoming a statement room with very luxurious features. I believe this is because it will be the bathroom the homeowner uses most rather than the family bathroom which may be shared with children."

4. Feature tiled wall: Trend finally reaches the bathroom

"Developers and homeowners are increasingly creating bold tiled feature walls in their bathrooms. These can be different coloured tiles which then carry on onto the floor or a different effect with the material of the tile including a rougher surface for the feature wall."

5. Inside outside: Utilizing the space as one

"We are most excited about this trend. By using the same tiles inside and outside a home it provides a lovely flow particularly when people have their French doors open. It instantly creates a space that looks like it is inside - there is no gap. While we don't live in Tuscany, this look encourages the outdoors entertaining that we all crave as soon as the sun comes out."
