The extension of the FirstBuy scheme to at least March 2014 is great news for first-time buyers in England and Persimmon Homes has been quick to take up the new funds available. To help those trying to get on the property ladder in Wiltshire, the housebuilder is hosting several events on Saturday 9th February at developments in the county.
The FirstBuy 2 Clinics are taking place at the following schemes:
- Castle Mead in Trowbridge, priced from £147,996
- Dauncey Gardens in Melksham, priced from £123,196
- Hazel Ridge in Swindon, priced from £115,196
- Persimmon@Wichelstowe in Swindon, priced from £149,596
- Roman Quarter in Salisbury, priced from £135,996
- The Oaks in Calne, priced from £127,996
Pauline Fletcher, sales and marketing director for Persimmon Homes Wessex, says: "Any initiative that helps first-time buyers take their first step onto the property ladder has to be welcomed. FirstBuy has proved hugely popular since it was launched earlier this year. It enables buyers to purchase a new home with a mortgage for 75% of the property price.
"The rest is made up from a 5% deposit made by the purchaser and a 20% equity loan provided by Persimmon and the government. The scheme won't last forever and I would urge anyone interested to come and see us to find out more about this shared equity, low-deposit mortgage solution."
FirstBuy is available to first-time buyers who cannot afford to buy a suitable property on the open market without financial assistance. It is open to households with an income of up to £60,000 where the applicant has a good credit history and can afford to maintain the mortgage payments.
You can find out more about your eligibility for FirstBuy funding at one of these Persimmon Homes events this weekend.
