Plans have been drawn up for a scheme featuring 87 new homes in Somerset by Taunton Deane Borough Council and Knightstone Housing Association.
Knightstone Housing Association want to build 30 affordable homes on Creechbarrow Road in Halcon, while Taunton Deane Borough Council plans to develop 57 affordable properties on another part of the development.
If planners approve the scheme, an existing block of flats would be bulldozed and replaced with the new homes.
Additional plans for the project include the construction of age-exclusive homes for people aged 55 and over, as well as ground floor accommodation for people with disabilities.
The project, which is expected to cost in the region of £11.7m to develop, will be considered by the executive later today (Wednesday 6 February) before being debated by full council on 26 February.
