New affordable homes in Aberdeenshire
The former site of Aberdeen's Craiginches prison could be used to offer affordable homes to health workers. The site, which closed to make way for the new HMP Grampian in Peterhead, could be sold to Sanctuary Scotland Housing Association, which, with financial support from the Scottish government, will create low-cost properties for people working in the public sector.
Affordable homes in Staffordshire
A planning application for the construction of 40 affordable houses on a former builder's yard in Werrington has been rejected. Members of Staffordshire Moorlands District Council's planning applications committee voted unanimously to refuse the properties at a site in Winterfield Lane, which is accessed off the main Cellarhead to Weston Coyney Road.
Affordable new homes in Cheshire
Square One Homes has opened the first phase of its affordable housing development at Kingfisher Square in Warrington, which features 12 one- and two-bedroom properties.The show home complex was officially opened last week by the Mayor of Warrington Councillor Ted Finnegan.

A new affordable housing development at Windmill Hill, near Truro, which provides 44 new affordable homes, including 34 homes for affordable rent and 10 for shared ownership, was completed last week and residents have moved in.

Lend Lease has submitted plans to Hounslow Council for a 137-home scheme in Chiswick, west London. The developer wants to regenerate a vacant office block and shopping frontage in Chiswick town centre. Completion is expected in 2016, subject to planning approval.
Affordable new homes in Lincolnshire
Work has started on an affordable housing scheme on the Blue Street site of the former Pilgrim Foods depot, part of a derelict industrial area in Boston. The £5m project will include 33 residential units for rent and eight for shared ownership under a part-buy, part-rent scheme, for more than 40 families.
