A wide range of properties will go under the hammer in the coming days. Here are some potentially good residential lots to look out for at auctions in Chesterfield, Northern Ireland and Derby.

Chesterfield

A selection of good value for money properties, including residential investment opportunities, are set to go under the hammer in Chesterfield this Thursday when Auction House Copelands host their sixth property sale of the year at the home of Chesterfield Football Club.

Highlights include:
Lot 7: An end of terrace two-bedroom house on King Street in Alferton, Derbyshire, DE55, which is currently generating a rental income of £4,380, is being offered at a guide price of just £25,000.
Lot 9: An unmodernised two-bedroom mid terraced house on Church Street in Brimington, Chesterfield, presents an excellent opportunity to acquire a property requiring a scheme of repair and updating at a rock bottom price. The property, which benefits from uPVC glazed windows, is available at a guide price of only £15,000.

Northern Ireland

Prospective buyers seeking a property bargain in Northern Ireland should check out this Wednesday's auction at Seagoe Industrial Estate which is being held by Wilsons. The sale, which kicks-off at 7.30pm, will feature 17 attractively priced lots, with prices starting from £7,500.

Highlights include:
Lot 1: A one-bedroom garden flat with private off-street parking in Pembrooke Court, Newtownabbey, BT36, is being offered at a guide price of £39,000.
Lot 11: A ground floor shop with a residential upper part on Newtownards Road in Belfast, BT4, which is producing rental income of £4,740, is being offered at a guide price of £85,000.

Derby

Graham Penny Auctions has a property going under the hammer in its next auction on Thursday 4th September at Nottingham Racecourse with a very recognisable address - 10 Downing Street!

Lot 20: This property, which is currently receiving £4,500 in rental income, is not the home of the Prime Minster nor does it have the famous black door. Instead it is a traditional three storey two-bedroom end-terraced house in Sutton in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, which is on the market for £40,000+.

Vejay Pal, senior valuer at Graham Penny Auctions Nottingham, commented: "It's not every day you see 10 Downing Street for sale. This clearly isn't the head of government's home. However, we've already received a huge amount of interest in the property - no doubt in part because of its better-known double. The lot itself is an ideal investment property benefiting from gas central heating and double glazing. It does require some cosmetic improvement and upgrading but with a little effort it could produce a healthy return or yield for a property investor or landlord."

The property comprises a lounge and breakfast kitchen on the ground floor, a double bedroom and bathroom/WC to the first floor and a double attic bedroom on the second floor.

Lot 32: A well-presented three-bedroom semi-detached house on Maun Avenue in the popular residential area of Bobbers Mill in Nottingham, NG7, also presents bidders with a potentially good investment opportunity. The property, which is let at £550 per calendar month, is on the market at a guide price of £100,000.

Pal added: "The attraction of buying a property at auction is that it's a straightforward, transparent and quick process. On the fall of the hammer, the sale is secure, contracts are exchanged and the sale is completed within a month. Then the new owner can start reaping the benefits of the addition to their property portfolio."
