New affordable homes in West Midlands

More than 700 affordable homes are to be constructed across Shropshire, Staffordshire and Herefordshire after Wrekin Housing Trust was awarded £20m government funding. Out of 730 homes, the trust said 714 would be affordable and the remaining 16 will be shared ownership properties.

Affordable homes in Wigan

Wigan and Leigh Housing and Adactus Housing Association have secured grants worth nearly £10m from the Homes and Communities Agency's affordable homes programme. The grants will see hundreds of affordable homes built in the local area.

Affordable new homes in Warrington

Stage one of a development of affordable houses will be opened by the Mayor of Warrington Clr Ted Finnegan on Saturday, August 16. Square One Homes has completed the first phase of its unique development at Kingfisher Square, located off Manchester Road. The scheme has been supported by the Cheshire & Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership and the Growing Places Fund.

New affordable homes in North Tyneside

Two schemes have been drawn up as North Tyneside Council looks to fulfil its commitment for more affordable homes in the town. A planning application has been submitted by the council to demolish the former police station and Alexandra Street Family Centre, with a decision expected soon. The plans feature 12 two-bedroom houses, 13 three-bedroom houses, 12 two-bedroom apartments and four one-bedroom apartments, complete with landscaping and parking. The council has also been awarded a £75,000 grant from the Homes and Communities Agency for a scheme to bring eight privately owned long-term empty properties in Wallsend town centre back into use as affordable homes.

Affordable homes in North Lincolnshire

Seven new homes are planned for a Wolds village under a scheme aimed at offering affordable housing. Lindum Group is the would-be developer for the terraced homes and flats on land off Bentley Lane, Grasby.

Affordable new homes in West Sussex

Families with a local connection moved into their new homes last week in a recently completed development at Hawthorn Close in the coastal village of East Wittering in the Chichester district of West Sussex. The scheme, which features seventeen properties, offers a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments and two-, three- and four-bedroom houses for social housing rent and shared ownership. These homes are available to families and individuals with a strong local connection to East Wittering.
