A wide range of properties will go under the hammer in the coming days. Here are some potentially good residential lots to look out for at auctions in Derby, Leeds and Liverpool.
Derby
Graham Penny Auctions will host its 60th Derby auction on Thursday 10th July at the iPro Stadium. The sale will feature 59 lots from across Derbyshire and the rest of the UK, with guide prices ranging from £5,000 to £285,000. Graham Penny commented: "We have some really exciting lots in this next catalogue, many of which have already attracted significant interest and viewings."
Highlights include:
- Lot 55: The catalogue features several unusual and attractive propositions including Halcyon Cottage at Duffield Bank, which has a guide price of £250,000 and is a stunning stone-built three-bedroom detached house with highly desirable and extensive views within 11.25 acres of land. The property is subject to a protected tenancy at a weekly rent of £99.
- Lot 56: Another uncommon property is the Flint Mill at Consall Forge, Wetley Rocks in Stoke on Trent (pictured), a sympathetically restored four-bedroom stone-built residence situated alongside the Cauldon Canal and enjoying a superb position within the Consall Nature Reserve. It has a guide price of £285,000.
Leeds
Having already sold a wide range of lots at their London sale last week, Eddisons will be hoping for further sales success on Thursday 8th July at Elland Road in Leeds, where a total of 59 lots will be offered.
Highlights include:
- Lot 23: The former High Bentham Water Treatment Works off Mewith Lane, offered on the instructions of Yorkshire Water at a guide price of £150,000, is arguably the standout lot of to be offered at the auction. The stone built property overlooks Yorkshire's famous Three Peaks and has planning consent for proposed conversion to a live/work unit. Tony Webber of Eddisons said: "The property is close to the Yorkshire Dales National Park and enjoys a stunning rural location with unspoilt views over open moorland. The fact that planning permission has been granted for conversion can only add to its appeal."
- Lot 36: A tenanted two-bedroom mid terrace house on Zetland Street in Hull, HU3, which is receiving £3,588 per annum in rental income is being offered at a guide price of £27,000. The property is sure to appeal to buy-to-let investors as well as owner-occupiers.
Liverpool
George Harrison's childhood home in Liverpool will go up for auction in the first week of August. The Beatles guitarist lived at the terraced property in Liverpool, England with his parents between 1949 and 1965, and the Fab Four are said to have written hits including Love Me Do there.
The building is now up for auction, without a guide price, via Homes Bought Fast, and managing director David Coughlin told the press "we are overwhelmed by the interest surrounding this property. When we heard it was a Beatle's former house we implemented a lot of research which confirmed it was George's house - and we still couldn't believe it."
John Lennon's childhood home in Liverpool was sold at auction last year for just over £480,000.
