Durham County Council's county planning committee has awarded outline planning consent for the redevelopment of Durham's old fire brigade HQ. The residential-led scheme in Framwellgate Moor will feature a range of affordable homes.
Affordable homes in East Lothian
Castle Rock Edinvar Housing Association has been awarded funding from the Scottish government's Town Centre Housing Fund to develop seven new affordable homes on Bridge Street in Tranent. The building, 22-24 Bridge Street, was most recently used by East Lothian Council as a respite centre, but it has been vacant for over nine months.
Affordable new homes in Sheffield
Sheffield council has announced plans to build up to 600 affordable homes in Sheffield over the next six years to help meet growing demand for affordable housing in the city.
Affordable homes in Lancaster
Plans for 17 new affordable homes to be built in Cockerham have been given the go-ahead by city councillors. R P Tyson Construction Ltd will develop a selection of two-storey houses on land to the side of Willey Lane, along with landscaping and a new access road. The site is currently an undeveloped greenfield site.
New affordable homes in Somerset
Two separate planning applications have been submitted by the Yarlington Housing Group, a not-for-profit organisation based in Yeovil, to the district council to build new homes, including 60 affordable homes, in Welshmill Lane and Little Keyford Lane, in Frome.
Affordable new homes in East Dunbartonshire
A new affordable housing scheme will be developed on the banks of the Forth and Clyde Canal. Trust Enterprises, with support from East Dunbartonshire Council, is building 65 new affordable homes on a former local authority site off Southbank Road, in Kirkintilloch.
